PRODUCT FILLING - DRY

The filling of dry products into rigid containers can include powders, granulated sugars, salt, grains, rice, cereals, nuts, coffee and seeds, to a complete range of industrial products such as detergents, fertilizers and cleaning compounds to mention a few. Depending on the production speeds required these can also be configured in a rotary or in-line format.

AUGER

An auger filler utilizes a motor driven precision machined “screw” contained in a conical housing. By accurately measuring the rotations of the screw, free flowing products are dispensed through the bottom opening in the cone to dispense the product. These systems can be configured in a single or multiple head format to achieve the desired production rate. The use of highly accurate servo motors to drive the screw can provide very accurate fill weights and volumes.

VOLUMETRIC

As the name implies, a machined “cup” is filled from a bulk hopper to achieve a desired product “volume”. The containers are registered under the cup gate which then is opened to dispense the product. Due to the potential weight variances of the product ingredients, volumetric fillers can routinely have a “weight range” in the container.

ROTARY COMBINATION SCALE

A series of “buckets” with a range of capacities, each equipped with an electronic load cell, receive product from a series of vibratory feeders until the required product weight is achieved. The number of buckets in a rotary combination scale is dependent on the production speeds required. Available in 10 – 24 head configurations these systems can be used for both rigid containers and flexible packaging.

LINEAR SCALE

Identical in base technology to the rotary combination scale, this system has the buckets and vibratory feeders arrayed in a linear fashion and generally are used for applications where the production speeds are less than 60 per minute.
