Tips for Bundling Textiles with Banding Machines

Bandall has put out a new post showcasing  tips for getting the most out a banding machine when packaging textiles or laundry. In the post, Bandall covers advice for choosing the right kind of banding material, bundling laundry products, and using automatic stack height detection.

Picking Banding Material

Generally speaking, there are two kinds of banding film that you can use for bundling textiles and laundry: printed and plain.

Printed materials have design elements like printed product names, product material lists, and art to draw the eye, while plain ones don’t.

Plain bands are great for quickly dividing stacks of laundry or textile products in the distribution center, while printed bands are often used for the shelf displays of textile or clothing products.

Bundling Laundry

When bundling laundry, it’s important to have a stack that’s large enough to allow the band to solidly grip the laundry without crumpling it. Alternatively, you could use two bands in a cross pattern to hold individual items a bit more securely.

Using Automatic Stack Height Detection

Banding machines with this feature can change how much banding film they use on the fly without manual inputkeeping production fast on textile and laundry production floors with a lot of variable-sized products.

In general, these systems work best with plain banding materials, since with these systems, you don’t have to worry about product info or art being placed incorrectly when banding strip sizes change from product to product.
